The First Supper
Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments! They have been so encouraging. Haven is beautiful and we have spent several hours with her today. Because she is doing so well, we have been able to hold her (which we were told probably wouldn’t be able to happen). Infact, the doctors are so impressed with Haven’s status that they have suggested that Alison begin breast feeding her. That is happening even now.Â
Currently, the plan of operation is to perform the first open-heart surgery early next week. They want Haven to do as many “normal newborn” activities as possible before the surgery because this will be better for her recovery: she will be paralyzed after the surgery to allow things to heal and due to this paralysis many babies “lose” many instinctive reactions (such as breathing or eating), so they say the more things she can do on her own before the surgery, the better she will be when she comes off the paralysis.
Thanks again for all of your support. It really does mean so much to know we have you in our corner. We will continue to update as much as possible. Uncle Justin and Grandpa J will also continue to keep the site current. I know everyone wants pictures. Don’t worry, we have them. We’re just having a little trouble getting them on the site from the hospital. Keep checking back, I promise to have some up very soon!

Glad to hear everything is still going well! Is there a number at the hospital that Alison and Jeremey can be reached? We are their cousins and would just like to chat with them if they have any time.
Thank you!

She has two special parents and God has a special purpose for her life. I love all of you very much. Give her a kiss and hug for me too. Love, Grandma M

Grandpa pas visit
I was able to visit my granddaughter last evening. After mom and dad held Haven for some time I jumped at the opportunity to hold her. And of course she took to me right away. ;)We are already making plans for our walks, candy store stops, etc..
Ah, yes, now I can spoil her just enough for mom and dad (Jer./Ali.) to appreciate the good ole days of parenting when they were young. When I handed Haven over to Alison I believe Haven winked and smiled at me. Dont tell them that tho.:)
Haven is doing very well. I told her to keep eating and I’ll bring her a candy bar next time.
Dad (Jeremey) wanted me to relay a message to all of you. He and Alison will have a message for you on this site this afternoon. Uncle Justin will have information concerning addresses, phone calls, etc. please stay tune.

I am so thrilled for all of you and so glad you are able to spend more time than you expected with Haven. And thanks for keeping us informed on this website. It’s almost like being there. I’ll bet Grandpa Kevin and Grandma Joy are walking on air! Tell them hello and congratulations for me. Love you so much!
