Mother’s Day Update
Haven continues to make baby steps in the right direction. She had a good day today and enjoyed visiting with grandparents and other relatives for Mother’s Day. Haven made a beautiful card for her mama with her footprint and handprint. She also got all dressed up in her “I Love My Mommy” bib and pink bow. Although she rested a lot today, she was awake enough to stretch and celebrate. She was even able to come down on her ventilator settings a little bit!Â
We were hoping to have feedings going Saturday morning, but it got pushed back to Saturday afternoon. THEN, we had some trouble replacing her feeding tube. In fact, we had a little trouble all day today getting the feeding tube into the right place inside Haven. SO, if the tube doesn’t settle into the right place by morning, we’ll be taking a trip downstairs to have it put in place using a fancy x-ray machine so we can see what we’re doing. Once that tube is in place, we can resume feedings.
We’ve posted some new pictures for you to enjoy, so please check them out. Thanks so much for the wonderful posts and emails.  Those are all so special to us and mean a lot. Praise God for the wonderful friends and family we have to support, love, and encourage us through these times. Â

I just wanted to wish you a Happy Mother’s Day. I am sure that you don’t remember me, but I took care of Haven one time about a month ago, and I have not stopped thinking and praying for your family ever since. I check your site often to see how Haven is doing and I am just so excited about all of her baby steps! I wanted to thank you…I know that it is your wish that Haven will inspire other, and I am sure that my life is not the only one that will change becasue of Haven. I too have a beautiful daughter, and because of you, I know that I am a better mother to her because of seeing you with Haven, a better wife to my husband because I see what you two can overcome together, and a better nurse as well. Haven and your family are truly an inspiration to me and my family and I pray that she continues to defy odds and baffle the doctors with her strength!
