Defying the laws of medicine…
Haven had a good day today as she continues to do well on dialysis. We did notice this morning that her dialysis tube site was leaking. After testing the contents of the leakage, it was determined that the dialysis fluid was leaking out a little. This type of leak has major risks for infection, so they reduced the amount of fluid that Haven receives every hour. Â
Initially, this seemed to be a bump in the dialysis road because, theoretically, less of Haven’s extra on-board fluid will come off if the amount of dialysis fluid is reduced. However, on average we have been getting off about the same amount. So once again, little Haven defies common medical theory and practice. That’s ok with us. We will be continuing the current plan through the weekend and hopefully have an even skinnier Haven by Monday.

That’s great news that Haven is doing well on the dialysis. Have a nice weekend and we pray all continues to go well. I like the heading for this posting. (smile) She certainly does seem to ‘defy the laws of medicine’ sometimes!
