Trip to MRI
Haven had MRI’s for brain and liver scans originally scheduled today for 5:30pm. Sometime this morning, they thought that it might be more beneficial to do them earlier in the day, so they moved them up to 3:30pm. Getting Haven ready to go on a trip anywhere outsied of her room is quite a cumbersome ordeal, so we started getting everything ready around 1:00 or 1:30pm.Â
So, 3:30pm rolled around and we were ready to go, but the MRI folks called and said they were running behind and wouldn’t be ready until 4:30pm. So we waited. Unfortunately, as soon as we started waiting, Haven decided that her numbers should get a little wacky. So we had to work fast to try and get her some additional support with medications and other things to get her back to a stable enough state to take a trip (a very stressful thing for a very sick baby).Â
Finally, around 6:00pm, Haven had stabalized and we were once again ready to go. Of course, there were some other things that decided to happen down the hall that required the attention of the several people that were going to be accompanying us on the trip. So finally, just before 7:00pm we left her room.Â
As you can imagine, it took seven us to get her down there, settled onto her MRI table and ready to go. She did great during the MRI’s. It took about an hour and a half, then we headed back up to her room. They say we should have those results tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, she may be taking another trip for a kidney scan (different type of test than MRIs). We’ll see how she recovers from the big evening. Thanks for your continued prayers and support. We’ll keep you updated as we continue to receive results.

Wow, what a trip indeed! Seeing the pictures of Haven in her room with all the equipment and tubes, I can only imagine the work it took. If you ever needed patience this trip would have been of those times. I’m glad the MRI was able to be done. Thank you for letting us know how Haven is doing and what she is facing so we can pray specifically for her. Every battle you face with Haven, every hour she puts up her fight, every step forward in her recovery wraps around my heart. Your family is never far from our thoughts and always in our prayers. It’s so wonderful to know Jesus and that you can rest all your cares on Him. I know His loving arms are wrapped around Haven and pray His extra special comfort and peace to you as parents. Haven may have already had her kidney scan by the time you read this, if so I hope your trip was uneventful! Have a nice evening.
